In this project we were assigned a case study home to analyze and choose a portion to build a 1/2" scale sectional model of. I was assigned the Kings Road House by Robert Schindler, a well-known example of early 20th century modernist experimentation with co-living and a beautiful take on a the relationship of a domestic space to its outside environment.
I chose to focus on the nexus of the home's pinwheel plan layout; a place where two bedrooms, the kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and an outside courtyard meet to give form to the home's connected and transparent spatial arrangement.
